(Oftentimes I ask myself why I choose to get embroiled in Mindanao peace and conflict issues and putting my nose into other people's problems. Living in a bustling tiger metropolis at the country's financial nerve center, I could choose to ignore a tragedy seemingly too geographically distant to affect me. Why not just lay back, indulge in what money can buy, and be amused at how armed conflicting parties tear each other apart. So what the heck am I doing? This is my own paradox but allow me to indulge you with my own ramblings.)

Mohagher Iqbal, the chief negotiator of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), said the document contains the political solution to the age-old problem of the Bangsamoro people.

Civilians suffer airstrikes

Additional four civilians, all women, were hit by OV-10 bombs as the indiscriminate airstrikes by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) continued in Maguindanao.

In an interview with the victims, members of Tiyakap Kalilintad of the Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society learned that on November 18, Hadja Sapia Samad and seven other members of the family were inside their house in Barangay Liyab, Mamasapano when two OV-10 bombers started to drop bombs in their community.

CBCS distributes qurban to evacuees

The Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society distributed Qurban to hundreds of internally displaced persons (IDP’s) last December 9 in some evacuation sites in Maguindanao.

The distribution was spearheaded by CBCS Chairperson Guiamel Alim and the Secretariat.
